Don't Give Up

The Jehovah's Witnesses leadership
offer little hope to its aging
membership who realize they have
wasted their lives inside a
doomsday cult.
The theme for this year's Jehovah's Witness (JW) summer convention is "Don't Give Up" just as my childhood friend and cousin commits suicide on the opening weekend of the first regional convention in my area. He was like me, born in and raised a JW with devout, strict JW parents and the kid of an Elder in the congregation.

The Elder Body are made up of the fully indoctrinated and trained members assigned to each congregation, some live in the area where they are assigned to lead the flock of JW rank and file members. They enforce the rules, doctrines and polices of the JW leadership called the Governing Body and its fleet of soldiers all headquartered in the New York area.

I would post a photo of him here when we were kids but I have none. All photos albums from my childhood are in the possession of my JW parents and I have only a few photos of my very early childhood that were given to me by my non-JW relatives that I spent about the first six years of my life with in New York before my parents moved to the West coast so we could be around the fully indoctrinated JW family of my mother, with my father soon becoming baptized and an Elder for many years before stepping down from that position due to health issues. On my mother's 50th wedding anniversary she stated she wished she had 50 more years. No, not being married to my dad, I knew what she meant. She devoted her life to this doomsday cult, an Armageddon that never happened that she was promised in 1975. Oh yes, in spite of the rhetoric and backtracking you might hear now from the JW movement that no such belief existed except in the minds of a few misled people.

I have provided on this blog with references and links about the 1975 debacle of the JW Society where they lost thousands of its membership and you can do an easy search on the topic from   http://jwfacts.com/  which is a site that contains all the information you need to start your own journey of discovering what you've been trapped inside of for many years, perhaps since birth. Please do not be another Watchtower Society casualty. Do not fear knowledge and educate yourself on the religious movement you defend so dearly. It means your life.

Both of my parents are still devout JWs who have not given up on their pipe dream of some fantasy new world where some god Jehovah will grant their every wish without having to work for it. Oh, they work for it now, meaning they push their literature onto the public by doing a house to house so-called ministry work or set up booths or carts to do street witnessing which has nothing to do with the Bible, it's just literature produced by the JW Society.

The rank and file membership have to tow the line and pretend everything is fine, that it's great they can't pursue a college education, it's great they can't decide on a profession instead of just a job that pays maybe just above minimum wage and will retire in poverty if they can to afford to retire at all. It's okay that they die on the altar of their god Jehovah by refusing potentially life-saving whole blood transfusions and kill themselves or an unborn baby or child if a medical procedure involves blood or blood products. All this you have to push back into your subconscious and pretend it's okay. Well, it's not okay.

The rank and file membership are the animals led to slaughter, literally and figuratively. They are the ones dying since they are terrified to disobey the ruling class of JWs, the top echelon of its membership, the Governing Body, their foot soldiers and servants that survive on free labor at their new resort headquarters in upstate New York. The top elite membership who are wealthy, the stockholders, stockbrokers, investors, the lawyers, and the real estate moguls just to name a few that comprise the ruling class. They are not denying themselves any life-saving medical procedures I can assure you of that. You will never read a news item where a wealthy JW socialite killed herself or her baby by refusing a blood transfusion; it won't happen and doesn't happen. It's the rank and file who reside at the bottom of this giant pyramid scheme that are expendable.

Oh but wait, JWs say that committing suicide is a sin yet it's okay to kill yourself by following their rule of refusing a blood transfusion, oh, that is a lofty suicide and sacrifice to their bloodthirsty God Jehovah. They push aside the scriptures that say Jesus was the perfect human sacrifice and nothing else is needed for any person to gain salvation into a paradise. They deny the entire theme of the Bible which is faith in Jesus Christ. They use the common era name of Jehovah, a name that Jesus never used or knew about as "the name" of the most high God. Sorry, but no one knows the name of God and it's believed to be the unpronounceable letters YHWH.

The JW relative who informed me of my cousin's death said he was depressed and stepped down from being an Elder and stopped preaching from door to door. Oh, so that's why he committed suicide, tsk, tsk, tsk. I asked, well then he won't be in your JW new system of things right? That paradise on earth? He won't be resurrected per the rules of the JW Society. How did my relative respond? Did she say "the scriptures say...". Ha, no dear reader. My relative stated "our literature states it is up to Jehovah to determine the person's mental condition at the time they committed suicide". Nothing is Bible based with this religion. Oh, and per JW rules, there is no memorial service for people committing suicide, no obituary, nothing, since he "fell away" as a JW. So you don't exist, you are shunned, thrown aside, and viewed as being dead anyway so this drives many to suicide since they are isolated and can't reach out for help.

I wish I had not lost contact with my cousin over the many long years and I doubt he knew I left the JW cult 11 years ago and never looked back in longing like Lot's wife of the Bible. She looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt, which is the subject of a convention video this year. I think of it as looking back on the destruction of the filth of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, a money making pyramid scheme that thrives on the threat of death to its lowest ranking members. The JWs are a belief system based in fear, not love. The JWs are using that example of Lot's wife as its primary theme this year at their convention since it's okay for only the ruling class of the JWs pyramid scheme to seek wealth and fortune not the rank and file that support and serve the top portion of the pyramid. A mass of people that mean nothing but walking advertisements to recruit new members while giving away their money and wills and estates to the JW leadership.

Oh yes dear reader, please start your research today. Look into the religion you are devoting your life to, that wants your youth and destroys your future. There is happiness and beauty now all around us, no matter what your situation is. Please seek help from someone outside of the cult indoctrination of the JW Society. Seek out trusted friends, maybe someone you knew in school, seek out a relative to talk to and ask them to help you seek a counselor to talk to about your suffering from depression or loneliness.

It's never too late to think about yourself, your future, and where you are right now. You can and will be happy. Start reading and exploring different belief systems that give you peace and doesn't separate families or mandates that you die on an operating table. Go online and search out videos on guided meditation to alleviate anxiety. I have links on the sidebar to videos, information and books that will start you on your journey of healing yourself, your life and your soul. You are worth it.

Caring for a furry friend is a great way to alleviate
anxiety and loneliness. Consider adopting a shelter
pet today. Caring and loving an animal can shift
focus off of yourself and get you back on your feet
and develop a positive outlook on life.
